The Surgery
The surgeon will choose general anesthesia or local anesthesia with sedative. A complete tummy tuck will take around 2 - 5 hours. First of all, an incision will be made from hipbone to hipbone, just above the pubic area. A second incision will be made to free the umbilicus. A skin flap will then be lifted to reveal the vertical muscles. The vertical muscles will then be tightened.
After the surgery
A few days after the operation, your abdomen will probably be swollen. It will take a few weeks for you to recover fully.
